Discover Your Birthday Color at Colorstrology

We all have or have had a favorite color once upon a time. Our selection of a favorite color is usually driven by one emotion or another. When creating the perfect shopping experience, companies invest a lot of money to research this topic to make sure consumers are inspired to spend some time and to spend some money. When selecting the colors for your wedding, what colors will you select, what colors will inspire you or give you that...feeling or emotion you seek on that special day? Why are you driven to that color? Well, here's a fun site that may clear some things up for you.

I'm a November baby and my favorite colors are pinks, reds, and browns. Imagine my surprise when I checked out this site and clicked on the month for November.

"The Pantone Color for the Month of November is Claret Red (Pantone Color 17-1740), Intense, Passionate, and Transforming. This color inspires strength, depth and love. People born during this month can see beyond the mundane and into the hearts of others."

You can even take the color analysis further and select your specific birth date for more detailed information. When I entered my specific date November 5, the color Jester Red (Pantone Color 19-1862) came up. Entertaining, Quick and Intelligent, the analysis suggests meditating and surrounding myself with this color inspires patience and knowing.

I was so inspired by this because it really hit the mark. As a wedding and event coordinator, I am very passionate about what I do and about helping to make others wishes and dreams come true, helping to create their heart's desire. Did learning this information about colors and my birth month create an aha moment for me? No, not really but it did give me a little insight about why certain colors were in my wardrobe or in my office more than other colors. It gave me some insight of colors to surround myself with I needed energy, or a creativity boost. Now, I don't know if this is an exact science or what, but knowing the info sure doesn't hurt.

Just for fun, check out Colorstrology and see what it says about you.

Looking for Silver & Golden Anniversary Couples

As those of you who follow us here at Coco Trendy Events know, I truly believe in long lasting marriages and relationships. I have been exposed to quite a few couples who have celebrated or will soon celebrate 25 and 50 years of marriage, and I can only hope and have faith that my husband and I will live to celebrate this milestone with each other.

I have had the wonderful opportunity of coordinating a few wedding anniversary celebrations and I must say, it brings the joy to what I do as an event planner. We must celebrate these anniversary milestones every chance we get. Especially when there are so many statistics out there talking about how high the divorce rate is. So this is one of those places where we are going to celebrate these wonderful teachers of marriage and commitment.

If you or someone you know is celebrating a 25th or 50th Wedding Anniversary (anything after 50 years is most welcome), we want to highlight you or them. Send us some information including their names, wedding date, some info about the couple and a few photos of them or their wedding anniversary celebration. We would love to highlight them in our showcase of "Relationships Standing the Test of Time." You can email us at info@alphaprosperitymanagement.com or leave the info at our contact page at Alpha Prosperity Events.

Mardi Gras Vacation - Wedding Inspiration

I just got back from my Mardi Gras vacation in New Orleans. It is one of my family traditions and I really try to make time for it every year. Mardi Gras is classic time for me. The weekend has been full of good things to eat, beads, dubloons, good music and happy, jolly people.

I got to meet with a couple I will be working with in planning their wedding. As a consultant, I truly want my focus to be in helping couples remember what all of the excitement is about, as well as plan all of the great details for their special day. The union of two people who love each other and choose to be joined together is something to be celebrated, and nobody does a celebration better than New Orleans at Mardi Gras time.

This couple isn't considering it but have you ever thought about a Mardi Gras themed wedding? It could be really fun to do and know matter what your budget, the sky is the limit. And you don't have to be New Orleans to have a Mardi Gras themed wedding. Somethings to consider when planning a Mardi Gras themed wedding:

Attire - Bride and Groom can be in very regal attire, much like a king and queen with the wedding party wearing very ornate masks or simple masks.
Cake - An ornate cake with lots of white or creme with gold touches, or fleur-de lis decor
Colors - The classic Mardi Gras colors: Green- Purple- Gold
Favors - Mardi Gras beads, (you can get them with specific emblems if you really want to go over the top). Gold coins with couples monogram and wedding date (Chocolate covered with gold foil to look like a dubloons)
Reception Ideas - Have a jazz band or a zydeco band - "Second Line" dancing - Serve creole, cajun food, such as gumbo, or jambalaya.

I love New Orleans (it's my birthplace after all), and all of the comforts, traditions and classic architecture you can find there. For example, nothing is more comforting than creole and cajun cooking, and the traditional architecture and design found in some of the local buildings, really lends itself to any design element you could want. Whatever you choose to do for your Mardi Gras or New Orleans themed wedding, just know that you can't go wrong if you stick to the overall plan of "Laissez les bon temps roulez" ...Let the good times roll.
